Nové Město pod Smrkem

Nové Město pod Smrkem is situated in tourist region Frýdlant area between the Jindřichovice ridge and the mountain Smrk. It was founded in 1584 and its establishment is closely connected with mining of tin and other non-ferrous metal metals in its surrounding. In the recent history the town was famous for its textile industry. The town is located 465 meters above sea level and has approximately 4000 inhabitants. The Frýdlant region is so far little discovered area, however it offers the opportunity to spend an active holiday in the middle of a beautiful nature at the bottom of the Jizera mountains. Nové Město pod Smrkem is perfect for cycling and hiking tours with the choice of many trips to the Jizera Mountains. Local cycling tours are also suitable for less able-bodied cyclist and children. Nové Město pod Smrkem also serves as a base for spa tourism in the nearby Spa Libverda (CZ) and Swiaradow Zdroj (PL). There are outdoor pool and renovated town spa available for the tourists’ relaxation. You can have a dinner in one of the four local restaurants.

Newly reconstructed town spa is situated in a historical art nouveau building of original public spa and was re-opened in 2005. You can find there all you need for good relaxation:

Outdoor pool

Outdoor pool with a grassy beach and sandy bottom is situated 1, 5 km from the city centre. There are many facilities available for you: Children’s corner, volleyball- and beach volleyball court, tennis court, snack bar, WC, slide, boats- and pedal boats rental. The area of the outdoor pool complex is 2500m2 and the depth reaches max. 4m.
